Terrebonne Parish was heavily affected by the 2010 BP Gulf Oil Spill, resulting in a tarnished image of the region and a decrease in visitors. TDM worked with Axia Creative and Great Destination Strategies to reveal the brand Terrebonne Parish.
Our extensive research and analysis helped define its brand identity as the Cajun culture influenced by the extensive system of waterways and bayous, and one of America’s most productive wetlands areas. The bayous have shaped everything about the area, from its cultures and lifestyle to its recreational opportunities. By laying claim to “Louisiana’s Bayou Country” puts Terrebonne Parish on the map as THE place for definitive bayou and Cajun experiences.
The brand inspired a visual identity and communications to project the inter-related brands for the Parish, City of Houma, Houma Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and regional wayfinding.
Branded merchandise was designed to help support the brand.
A regional wayfinding program was developed to include Houma and smaller communities throughout Terrebonne Parish.
The regional wayfinding system included parish, community and district gateways, vehicular and pedestrian guides, information kiosk/maps, street banners, bayou bridge identity and regulatory signs were introduced.
